About Us
The Chloride Free Foundation is an international non-profit organization that believes we can still reverse climate change and create a prosperous and equitable future for all people and the environment.
To achieve this goal, we need to work alongside nature, helping her do what she does best: regenerate and find balance. To enable this, we are working to promote soil biodiversity through the minimization of chloride use in agriculture.
We work on two main fronts: the first is raising awareness about the importance of soil biodiversity in the climate fight as well as in other ecosystem services such as soil health and ecosystem conservation. This is especially important seeing as these organisms are out of sight and usually out of mind.
The second front is taking action to promote soil biodiversity by supporting farmers adopt chloride-free practices. We encourage them to be mindful about the inputs they use on crops, while advocating for the minimization of the use of potassium saline fertilizers.
These practices increase soil biodiversity, crop resilience, soil health, carbon sequestration and farmer’s profits. As a result, it also allows nature to regenerate and find balance.
